Welcome
These pages provide information on three research programs in the Crop & Soil Environmental Sciences Department at Virginia Tech: Wheat and Barley Breeding, Soybean Breeding, and Crop Genomics.
Our multidisciplinary research and teaching activities span the molecular scale to the ecosystem scale, and encompass inception to delivery to consumers and farmers.
We conduct innovative research resulting in the advancement of science and enhancement of environmental quality and human well-being via development and delivery of improved and novel plant-based products and systems. Our research has applications in food, feed, fiber and fuel production, and provides cutting edge knowledge in the education and training of students, and in technology transfer and outreach to practitioners and stakeholders.
